Welcome to Evergreen

The Evergreen Health Insurance Program can pay medical insurance premiums for eligible Washington State residents, enabling them to maintain access to vital health care. To be eligible for Evergreen, you must first enroll in Washington State Department of Health’s HIV Client Services, Early Intervention Program (EIP).

This website has information about the program and how to apply if you are eligible for Evergreen Health Insurance Program (EHIP). There is also information about insurance and HIV resources, which may be useful whether or not you are eligible for Evergreen. On June 28, the Supreme Court of the United States upheld the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act that was passed in March 2010. When this law is fully implemented, people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic conditions will be able to achieve greatly improved health outcomes through access to physical and mental healthcare and other needed services. This is the most exciting societal achievement since the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
